Zapier is a no-code automation platform that allows you to connect Xledger with thousands of other applications and automate workflows between them.
Xledger supports integration via Zapier to enable simple, event-driven automation between systems.
Note: Xledger supports the Zapier app code, but does not support integrations built using Zapier, this is owned and maitained by the customer/partner building them (refer to Integration approaches for more details).
What is Zapier?
Zapier enables you to automate processes by linking systems together using workflows called Zaps.
Each Zap consists of:
- A Trigger – an event that starts the workflow
- One or more Actions – tasks that are performed automatically
Example:
- A new customer is created in a CRM → automatically create the same customer in Xledger
- A payment is recorded in another system → automatically post a transaction in Xledger
How Zapier Works with Xledger
Zapier acts as a connector between Xledger and external systems, allowing data to move automatically without manual intervention.
Typical automation scenarios include:
- Creating or updating customers or suppliers
- Posting financial transactions
- Syncing operational data from external platforms
- Automating repetitive administrative processes
Zapier is particularly useful for connecting Xledger with systems such as:
- CRM platforms
- Payment providers
- Support or ticketing systems
- Internal workflow tools
Key Concepts
Zaps
A Zap is an automated workflow made up of:
- One trigger
- One or more actions
Triggers
A trigger is the event that starts the automation, for example:
- New record created
- Data updated in another system
Actions
Actions are the tasks performed in Xledger, such as:
- Creating a customer
- Posting a transaction
- Updating existing records
Getting Started
- Log in to your Zapier account
- Create a new Zap
- Choose a trigger application and event
- Select Xledger as the action application
- Connect your Xledger environment using API credentials
- Configure the action (e.g. create record, post transaction)
- Test the Zap and turn it on
When to Use Zapier
Zapier is best suited for:
- Simple, event-driven integrations
- Automating repetitive manual processes
- Connecting Xledger with common SaaS platforms
It may not be suitable for:
- Complex or high-volume integrations
- Real-time processing requirements
- Scenarios requiring advanced validation or business logic
Limitations
- Functionality is limited to the triggers and actions available within Zapier
- Custom integrations built using the Zapier Developer Platform are not supported
- More advanced integration requirements may need to be handled via the Xledger API or other middleware tools

Summary
Zapier provides a straightforward way to connect Xledger with other systems and automate everyday processes. It is ideal for lightweight integrations and operational efficiency, while more complex requirements should be handled through other integration approaches.
